The Journey to Zeenya’s New Releases: A Story of Setbacks and Triumph
First off, I just want to thank you all for your incredible patience and support, especially with the launch of our Summit Sleeve last week.
The journey to our new releases has been full of fabric disasters and hurdles. I will be honest - there have been a lot of tears, and at times I wanted to chuck it all in. But this community is amazing, and the support I have received has kept me going. I am grateful for Chloe who has gone over and above to help me get this sorted.
We ran into a major setback when Whakapapa arrived and we discovered it had been misprinted at 50% of its original size. I knew the community would be expecting the original Whakapapa print, not a smaller version, so I decided to have it reprinted at the correct size. This mean another four weeks of waiting, and having to absorb the cost of this too. Then, we had fabric shortages and waistband quality issues. It's been a ride.
I bet you're skimming through this thinking "just tell us when they'll be ready!".So, Irmazhina and two new prints are in production now. That's three! Whakapapa will be a little delayed, with one roll arriving this week, and another in a few weeks. The good news? I’ve ordered enough fabric for both the core and sport ranges, and to get products to you sooner, we’ll be doing mini-launches as products are completed. This means there is no print FOMO across the core and sport ranges. We are so close.
Lastly, I’ve got one roll of the "too small" Whakapapa fabric that we need to use up. If anyone has creative ideas for it, let me know!
Thank you again for your continued support. It truly means the world as we get these new prints ready for you.
I think you could sell it as fabric. There are lots of crafty people who would love to make something with it!!
Would first depend on what the artist felt OK with/appropriate of course, but some other ideas…. bandanas for the dogs of Zeenya (there are many!)… splashbacks for singlets (coz I reckon it would look cute in that tiny piece!), or even a small run of your smallest size leggings for the mini-Zeenya fans (because I have a feeling there are a fair few of them out there too, that are always eyeing up their Mama’s leggings! And a mini print on them might actually work really well?). Hang in there gorgeous – going into business is never easy! Just keep trying to reframe each “wrinkle in the fabric” as a learning experience, hang on to your growth mindset tight with both hands, and keep the faith xxxx
Hi
I was thinking the other day as I was out walking that some sort of vest with reflective bands on it would be great in Zeenya material as well. Maybe a new opportunity. The other product I would love to see would be a sports crop of any style that has a zip in the front ;)
I’ll third the headbands and waist belts! The fabric is too nice to waste.
^ This!
I came here to say headbands!
Or those zip up bags for putting around your waist when running to hold your phone
