The Exhaustion of Holding On
I’ve always been open about my struggles with anxiety and depression, but lately, they’ve been hitting harder than ever. And it’s not just the business struggles—it’s the exhaustion of fighting for something that feels like it keeps slipping through my fingers. The weight of constantly pushing, hoping, and believing, only to feel like the world isn’t meeting me halfway.
Spirited Women hit us hard financially, and coming home to even more manufacturing issues just broke me. It was one thing too many. I wanted to curl up in a ball and disappear. In fact I literally did curl up in a ball. The disappearing part has been a little harder.
Thankfully, I reached out to a few of my Ambassadors, and and they lifted me up. They stepped in, took over a few things, and reminded me I wasn’t alone. (Thank you, ladies—you have no idea how much that meant.) I slept, gathered myself, and told myself: You can do this. Keep going. Launch the new range.
So, we launched the Vibe Core Range on Tuesday night. We waited… and waited. I even checked my emails to make sure the launch email had gone out properly.
Tumbleweeds. Two orders.
After months of setbacks, stress, and pushing forward despite everything, this one hit differently. Like the universe was telling me to stop fighting for something that just isn’t working.
So, What Now?
Honestly? I don’t know. If you have ideas, I’d love to hear them.
But either way, I want to be honest about where I’m at.
If you’ve ever poured your heart into something and felt like it wasn’t enough, I see you. If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on empty, I understand. And if you’re struggling to hold onto hope, just know—you’re not alone.
💙 Kylie
Read over my comment again and I am afraid it sounded harsh, which I absolutely did not intend! I just want to emphasize again that I think you are doing an amazing job, and to please, please not take all the blame and worry on yourself. I love my Zeenya leggings, and I look forward to buying more in the future when possible. Sending happy thoughts your way :)
I’m no business or marketing person, so I feel a little weird leaving advice. However, I can at least share my perspective as a customer. First, as a couple of others have said, none of the recent prints have really captured my attention. I think it would be nice to do more voting on new prints and bringing back old ones (I’m still dreaming of Supresa, which I missed out on in its first release!). Second, I think it would help to move to pre-orders entirely. This would allow everyone to get exactly the style and size they want. In addition, because of the time difference (I’m in North America), by the time I make it to the website after a collection release, pretty much everything is sold out already. A week or two of pre-orders would allow everyone to order at a time that is convenient to them, whether that be due to time zone differences, ordering on payday, etc. Third, it might help to release one print at a time. Again, at the moment it feels like a bit of a scramble to get my orders in before everything is sold out—yet most of us can’t drop a couple hundred dollars on workout gear at a moment’s notice. Having one print come out at a time would allow people to spread their purchases out and not put as much of a strain on budgets. Fourth, I know it’s easier said than done, but please go easy on yourself! I don’t think you are doing anything wrong—there are big, bad economic forces going on right now, and I think we’re all just sort of retreating into our shells a bit to wait and see what happens.
Hi Kylie,
I am saddened to read this blog that you have had a tough road lately. I really hope it picks up! big hugs!
I have been buying Zeenya since 2018! they are my everything for Running, (i still have a pair of shorts -impulso i think their name that have been with me for every Ultra i have run and they are well and truly worn to the bone lol) MTB and fitness, ill only buy maybe once a year as i have lots of Zeenya in my rotation and sadly i dont earn enough coin in my job to buy Zeenyas more often. I prefer the core range as the waist bands are not as tight and shorts are not too long. i don’t mind no pockets as i usually have a run belt or backpack that holds a phone and snacks. Maybe you could do another ‘bring back an old print’ vote, i haven’t seemed to go for any new prints for a few years. or maybe a vote on some prints that you are thinking of doing for the next drop and do pre orders some NZ fungi/Flora would be pretty cool to see (if that is even possible?). Would you consider girls sizes like mini Zeenya too?
U are badassery & bravery at its best 🤗Times are tough for all of us eh, can u just switch over to presales? Consider getting the product made back overseas again? We all liked it when it was more affordable, NZ made isnt that important to many of us tbh the core range has never been the go to for me without pockets and they are way too short for my solid kiwi thigh lol & i know im
Not alone with that, consider dropping the core range & focus on the sports? Just throwing some ideas around 🤗🤗
Hi Kylie,
I love Zeenza and like alot of people am just not in a position financially to help by buying products at the moment. Seems like things are tough for so many of us at the moment. Please know it is not you or the product.
