Our Sport Range origin story
A little story from behind the scenes
September marks Zeenya's 10th birthday and we're feeling a little nostalgia.
With that in mind, we thought we'd share the evolution of our Sport Range and how it came to be.
Our first style was heavily influenced by the Wild Things Trail Running group over on Facebook.
It was an innocent day in June 2017, when I broke my own internet by asking what women wanted to see in their running leggings...
My Facebook alerts started going crazy. After 254 comments, I had to turn the post off. It was so much information to process!
We already had some ideas in the works, with pockets being essential so we built the hype up and got the interest going. The feedback was incredibly helpful and this was the summary.
And so our classic Running Legging was born. It's gone through a few versions now, with a change from a triangle to diamond gusset, to a new waistband and 2 side pockets now that they're made here in New Zealand.
From there the range has expanded adding in our 'above the knee' Running Shorts designed to stay in place and not ride up your legs.
And for those of you who love a Running Capri, we added in that 'below the knee' style.
The final addition to the Sport Range was developed while we were in Brazil in 2016 working with our manufacturers there. Our classic Sport Skirt with the grippy leg undershorts and double side pockets.
It's been so much fun to see these ranges develop and improve over time and we love that they're not 100% NZ Made.
