It All Counts - Why You Should Choose Joy in Movement
This Mental Health Week, we’re shining a light on the nationwide Top Up campaign, which reminds us that wellbeing sticks best when it’s shared. Even small moments of connection - with friends, the Zeenya community, whānau, or your dog - make a big difference.
At Zeenya, we know that moving your tinana together is magic for your mental health. It lifts your mood, reduces stress, and reminds you that life doesn’t have to be so serious.
Case in point: I went out for a run today, still recovering from what felt like a three-month virus. Legs like jelly, my heart thought I was sprinting, running partner disappearing into the distance… and I thought: bugger it, this isn’t fun today. I feel like I'm dying. David Goggins’ voice popped into my head yelling, “Who’s going to carry the boats?!” Not me, David. Not me.
Then Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” came on, and I just had to stop… and dance. Immediate mood boost. I decided to keep walking. I call this a PIVOT.
Movement doesn’t have to be perfect. Walking, stretching, dancing in your lounge with your kids, doing a little weird shimmy mid-run - it all counts. Put on our bright and joyful Zeenya's, and you're guaranteed to feel your mood lift.
💛 This Mental Health Week, Top Up Together: move, laugh, dance like no one’s watching, and celebrate the little wins - because movement should bring you joy.
